Hello fellow pr's. I have purchased the pr program 3 years ago and have since been using it off and on. I was wondering how long will it take for me to get as good as Pete? The instant recall imediately after pring. I say like 3 years of constant pring to get half as good as him? What do you guys thinK?

You know, I don't imagine Pete always just does the PhotoReading step, and he probably activates more than you might think. Listen to the TeleSeminar and he was talking about the time for radio that he activated a book in 30 minutes, then came back and felt completely lost. He still did well, but most of what he does is following his inner mind's cues. When he can spend more time on the text, he does, I think.

I think that in one e-mail, he also reported that he used Image Streaming on the infomercial or something. This is another valuable technique.

Pete is fast, don't get me wrong, but I believe most of his speed comes from his clever ways on how he activates the material.

Anyone can do it. Biggest thing Pete said is to just play with it and not worry about getting it wrong when he did the informercial. At the retreat we all activated a book in 30 minutes and were all challenged to tell what the book is about.

We had 5 people get up in front of the audience and answer questions from the books they PhotoRead. A common response from the participants was, "I wish I was up there being asked the questions." It was so exciting to see what we could do and watching others do it in front of the camera.

Really I would like to invite Kwlee to tell his experience here since he was one of the 5 on stage doing what Pete did and what we all could do.

I should have seen the PR challenge coming when I saw Pete snooping about the book racks. I must have looked pretty dazed when he later informed me (between interviews) that I was going to do the challenge! Anyway, the book he chose was on developing leadership.

We all did the 30 minute challenge - 30 minutes only with a book a partner chose for us. The only difference was that 5 of us did it on stage. As far as I could tell, everyone was talking intelligibly about the stuff they'd PRed. Interesting thing is that the methods of activation varied - they seem to be the main determinant of how well you do not just in the PR challenge, but also in everyday use.

I spent some time mind-mapping the book first to get an idea of the material and also some structure I could hang the info about. The remaining 20+ minutes were spent in the book which superread and dipped about 4 times for that book. Imagination helped to bring everything together so that a clear idea of how the thing fit appeared. It's quite interesting to watch the thing gel in your mind.

Dr. Michael Bennett did the interrogations, and by the time I went up I was feeling a little uncertain of myself. Still, when they came, I found that most of the information I had on hand immediately. It's quite amazing how superreading and dipping something brings important facts to one's attention and dumps the rubbish. I could never have done that before learning PhotoReading. In fact, thanks to the mind map and imagination, I even managed to elaborate on the stuff. :P For the parts that I found more challenging to answer, I went with what came to me, and they were right!

It really was an empowering experience, with a great audience, to affirm the power of PhotoReading. Personally, I believe anyone could have done it given the willingness to play and to challenge the paradigm. Of course, I had special help changing my paradigm to begin with! (Thanks, Alex. Again.)

Can you share more experience on your super read and dip? Indeed i wonder how wide can you read clearly when you superread.

During superread, we are supposed to be able to see the whole row clearly, which is to be able to read every word out. For me, I gaze at the centre part of a row and try to expand my vision to see the words. However, I just 'notice' the existence of words on the far left and right side but I don't really know what the words are.

The situation is similar to PR --- you notice the words but you don't know what the words are. In that case, I can only read max 5-7 words on a row and hence if the key words are on far left or right hand side of the row then I can't dip inot it. I just wonder if this is normal or it's my own problem.

By the way, referring to your post of teaching me to activate maths text, I am so happy that I can always find the key words relevant to my mind probing questions. However, the questions I ask are quite naive. I can say I don't know what I have to know for exam preparation. Therefore, I think you would suggest me to do past paper questions. I did, and the problem is the past paper questions are so advanced that even one question can ask you several concepts. So I don't know where to dip. Can you share some of your experience on activating past paper questions?
