Hi Ambience713 that is really neat the way the brain works. A while back i read in a book about a woman working with a friend to help him remove a thick foreign accent. I went through about 3 books i finally found it for you.
From the book The Everyday Genius Restoring Children's Natural Joy of Learning And Yours Too by Peter Kline:
"Sometimes when working with students individually, I like to teach them to read concerts themselves, because the process of matching the voice to the music helps develop better reading skills. So you might try having a family reading time where everyone takes a turn, while music plays in the background, and each person try to match the musical patterns with the rising and falling of the voice.Or you might try having a dinnertime ritual in which each night one member of the family prepares for all the others a short prepared reading. If you do this, I think you'll find everyone's reading skills and interest spurting ahead. This approach was used by one of my associates June Sasson to remove a friend's foreign accent. When she first drilled him on pronunciation he made litte progress, but when she played music in the background while they worked, he could hear the sounds he was supposed to produce more clearly, and thus produce them more easily. It took about 3 weeks, she said, for him to remove completely a thick Arabic accent he'd had for many years".
Incidentally this book The Everyday Genius is a great book on Accelerated Learning.I would also highly recommend The Mindmap Book by Tony Buzan.
