Hi. I was wondering if anyone can give me some hints on using Photoreading and other accelerated learning systems to improve my English and also prepare for law school.
I have been experimenting with photoreading during the last two years of college to cram for exams. I never experienced instant recall, but Photoreading enabled me to speedread a dry political science book in two hours without experiencing mental friction (fluid speeding reading?).
I also used photoreading to study Chinese characters, but it didn't seem to work.
Anyways, I want to experience the whole benefit of Photoreading for the purpose of improving my English and to prepare myself for law school.
My current obstacles:
1. I think I am a good writer, but my grammar is less than perfect. I have no idea how to use articles (a, an, the)properly. I always need to have someone proof-read my essays for article and other errors. I think I have to drastically improve my article and grammar usage to thrive in law school. Do you have any suggestions on Photoreading to improve grammar?
2. Also, is there any law school student here in this forum who uses Photoreading to cut down study time and also to get better grades? Since I am currently unemployed, I read about 6-8 hours daily for pleasure. I usually read 200-250 words per minute, but I want to drastically increase my reading speed and comprehension in law school.
3. Last question, I have a really bad Asian accent. I have lived in the States for a close to eight years, but it seems my speech is less than perfect and this has prevented me from getting jobs. I read someone here mention about Tomatis training. In conjunction with a pronunciation class I am taking, will a some form of Tomatis training help me improve my pronunciation? Any suggestions?
I apologize for this long (first) post but hope someone share some insight into my plans for self-improvement.
Thanks,
John
