I have a question to the GURU about relaxing while PR. I find myself getting a stiff neck and loosing focus also cause my arms are getting tired. What can I do to solve this problem? Also I PR a technical books on Database and programming that could be over 1000 pages long with detailed charts and graphs. What is the best way to get the most out of my activation process. I am generally very good at meditation and relaxing my body until it comes to PR. Please help.

Brp; a 1000 pages no wonder why you are getting out of state. That is way too much material at one setting. It very easy to get out state with so much material. So instead of photoreading 1000 pages at one setting break it down. Photoread 300 pages at one setting. Photoread 300 pages in the morning and photoread 300 pages in the evening.Next day photoread 300 pages in the morning and photoread 100 pages in the evening.

To get the most out of activation have a very strong clear purpose and really think what is it that you want from these books. Why is it important for you to have this information and what are you going to do with this information once you learn it.How are you going to use it.

Here are some friends to take along with you on your journey. WHAT WHY WHERE HOW WHO WHEN. Use them often.

Treat the chapters in your textbooks like individual books. Prepare, preview photoread and activate the chapter. Write down trigger words and questions for the trigger words and find the answers to your questions when you superread and dip.

Do not go the old way the elementary inefficent way of you must read comprehend understand and learn all on the first pass. That is regular reading and is a inefficient
way.

Don't expect everything to come to you on the very first pass. You will need to make multiple passes many times. The material will start to come together for you but you need to give it multiple passes considering the sheer volume of the material you are learning.

PhotoRead the whole book in one go first time.

One way to get around the sore arm, stiff neck is to place the book on your thigh with perhaps a cushion under it. Sit in a comforable chair with an armrest. Allow your lower arm to be supported by the arm rest as you turn pages. This takes the weight off the shoulder so you're less prone to sore arm and stiff neck. A cushion helps so you don't have to lower your head too much.

We were photoreading between 5 and 10 Books in a 30 minute period all up we averaged between 20 and 40 books each that day. We all shifted and moved as necessary for the comfort of our bodies. Like with regular reading change postition, don't think about just keep going.

When it comes to activating the textbook. PhotoRead the section you want to activate and 2 chapters before and 2 chapters after it again. Focus on activating a chapter at a time treating each as a book in it's own right, after the first activation of about 30 or less where you go from cover to cover, you're noticing familiarity and layout etc you looking ofr much detail in the first activation. The PhotoReading the whole book and first activation of the whole book is to lay the foundation of having the whole available to you while you activate the parts.

Alex, when I PhotoRead, I have to hold the book close, but not too close, to my face in order to see the blip. I don't see the blip if I have the book on the table & I'm sitting normally. Why is that? I do use reading glasses. Is this normal, or should I say, am I the only one? Toby

Keep the distant comfortable so that you can turn the pages without having them brush against your nose (it gets a bit ticklish ).

Toby the question you need to ask yourself is it comfortable for you? Do you notice the four corners of the book when you do this? If yes then it's fine if no then you might want to try some adjustments. Go without the blip and soft gaze only.

With reading glasses it could be a habitual response. Whenever you put them on to read you habitually focused through them so going for divergent gaze may be a little harder over that distance since the center is the optimal focal point of glasses when it comes to reading.

It wouldn't surprise me if in time the blip becomes apparent for you at any distant with or without glasses. PhotoReading is in part training a muscle to respond more flexibly.

Thank you all for your great insights re: PR and Activation. However, I find myself attempting the activation process and its taking to long cause I feel like if I don't get it the first time I must be a slow person or dumb bo. please advise. brian

Yep, I too use to get a sore neck, arms and all.

That's until I bought the wife2000 gadget.

Basically I just go into photofocus and have my wife turn the pages for me. No more sore arms and stiff neck!

Just stick with it, like exercise it takes time to train the body (neck, arms ...) to PR for extended periods of time.

Love and Light

Set yourself a time for each activation pass. Be it 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes max. at the end of each pass you must stop and take a short break, reconsider your purpose, decide how much more you need and what you really need from the book..

This helps you keep focused and avoid the trap of regular reading. As well as serving as a reminder that the information comes better in layers and when it comes in layers it stays in our memory better.

I'm having a problem with Activation.I've just activated a book on business writing this evening but it didn't go very well(just got the Photoreading book days ago).I super-read the book but didn't know where to dip!I know I ought to look for trigger words but it seemed to me that trigger words are almost everywhere. In the end I was trapped in regular reading with a little bit of omitting here and there. My first attempt failed. Will try again.Any advice?

Clarify your purpose, have your mind probing questions and trigger words written down before you start.

Remember also that activation is done in layers. The best way to layer is have 2 to 3 questions seek answers, mind map, mind probe again. Ask yourself if you need to know more, if so what more do you need to know. Go in with questions and find answers again.

If you're not an active participant in activation then you fall into the passive regular reading mode. You've been doing that a whole lot longer than applying the PhotoReading System so go easy on yourself.
