Try sitting. Open the paper up on the table. Place your hands just beyond either side of the paper. Look at the paper and wiggle your thumbs. Can you see them? Personally, I can see beyond the edges of the table.

Standing is probably more comfortable, and reassuring when PRing, but you can see it all while sitting.
