Today I PR a book that's around 800 to 900 pages for twenty minutes, pages were skipped due to the thiness of the paper. I want to know whether if I am PRing too slowly or just doing fine.

Are you comfortable Kimax200?
Do you find yourself slipping into hard focus?
Do you start to day dream?

If you answered Yes, No, No. Then I'd say you're doing fine. You can go faster if you want. However, just stay comfortable and in state.

My rate varies. Usually within a book. It seems very nature and I just trust myself that whatever rate feels right, is right. It is right for me, my purpose, and the current material.

Thank you for your advice
But I am still pondering about the last question you asked "Do you start to daydream?" Does it means that my mind wanders off? Yes, I do ocasionally think about this and that but still able to remain in soft focus. As for my photo focus, I still have doubt whether I am doing it right or wrong. You see, I don't look straight through the book to get the blip page. What I do is turn everything into a "blip" where (I think) everything is blurry and overlaps with each other, then I centered the book infront of my eyes to get the blip (which is about one to two inches wide btw)

My questions are not directly related to page turning rate, but towards being in the correct state. The page turning rate isn't important, unless it is distracting your from being in state. In which case changing the page rate my help you keep focussed.

Being in a photo-focus isn't to important. It is just a soft-focus technique that is easy to notices. If you see all the the material on both pages, and you are not focussing on any specific words. Then you are doing fine.

Chanting is a good way to keep you in the right state, and stop from daydreaming inappropriately.

You are perfection.

The book says to stay at about 2 seconds per page, although I tend to go much faster - not because I've mastered the system, but because I can't focus for that long of period of time. But I do think that 2 seconds is a good time frame.

If so - then you have 2 secs times 900 pages = 1800 secs = 30 mins (unless I'm having a bad math day). Whcih means that you're technically going even faster than what the book says.

Since I never would have the patience to photoread a book for 30 mins or even 20 mins, when I read my big 800 page textbook, I went much faster than 2 secs per page, probably more like 2 pages per sec.

I think the key is to relax, get comfortable with the state and let the pages flow past your eyes.

Since this thread is discussing big books, I want to know how many trigger words should I find for a book that is over 1000 pages. I just photoread a 1500 pg ebook on economics. The photoreading book says that you should find around 25 trigger words for a book, but I find that there seem to be much more trigger words if I try a long book. How long should my postview be? I only picked out trigger words from the table of contents and did not bother to go through the entire book because if I did my postview might be over the recommended 5-15 mins. Is that still ok? And I find that I'm not picking out words but I'm getting phrases. Is there such thing as trigger phrases or should I just find words?

It's turn a page every two seconds that equals one second per page therefore 15 minuts is roughly what such a book would take. Given that Peter mentions thin pages turning is probably difficult so time wise I'd say he's doing fine.

As Iam2 has said, check the other factors if they are fine by you then all is okay.

Going faster has actually helped folks to stay in PhotoFocus better some find turning one page every second too slow and they get distracted. Rate is not as important as having a rhythm that is fairly consistent. Slow, Slow, quick, quick, slow is not one that helps you stay in the Accelerative Learning state though you might look cool on the dance floor.

Alex.

25 trigger words for the whole book. If you're working through a textbooks and treating each chapter as a book 8 per chapter will do. Time for preview or postview when collecting triggerwords. 3 minutes a chapter. 8 minutes on a preview for a book (yes that challenges you on the trigger words but the idea is to stay focused on the short preview and getting 20 to 25 trigger words) Ass another minute or two if you only managed 18, On a postview you can give yourself 8 to 15 minutes while looking for trigger words.

Naturally keep to 8 minutes if the book is 300 pages or less. Max at 15 for any book longer than 300 pages. You don't need to spend a lot of time at that stage. You just want enough fuel to get the engines running so that activation is easier.

Do take at least 3 minutes to look beyond the TOC and get trigger words from within the book. That helps get the activatin juices going.
