I happen to think one becomes more efficient by adapting it as they use it. Start by doing what is working and make little improvements as you go.

In a work situation its odd how newcommer supervisors start trying to make things more effient for the workers and yet never even tried the process as it is. Often it reverts back to what they were doing before because just in the doing the 'effient' methods evolved. Struggling to do it like someone else means you need to think like that someone else. Takes longer than doing it as best as you can and then adapting the little things step by step.
