Pete Bissonette: "PhotoRead 5-10 books a day for a month or two."

Hi Pete, did you activate all these books or you just activated 3 books and left the others for direct learning purpose? It seems that activating 5 books and having each book gelled on average in 3 activation passes would take about 6-7 hrs a day. Haha!

I don't know exactly what Pete did. But I did this for about 3-4 months or so. Photoread any book even if it is the same book 5-10 times, I used the PWMS book, and activated it once a week. Sometimes I would select some biographies and do those instead. If I had the time I activated more than one book a week. I found I had the best results when I just used the system following the 5 steps exactly. The problem I had was I wanted to download it and be done. It doesn't work that way. By following the steps I learned how to pull the information out of my implicit memory.

Good Luck
Fritz

Do you PR the same 5-10 times at the same time or do you take a break between PR session?

hen Pete says PhotoRead 5 to 10 books a day he meant the PhotoReading step.

Full technique is Photoread 5 to 10 times a day and activate at least one of the each week.

The 10 books can be the same books, different books or in a pinch 1 book at different times of the day.

Blocks of 10 books in one sitting is easy enough however if you're doing one book I suggest you take breaks.

I had a chance to talk with Pete about this at the recent Advanced Photoreading Retreat. The main point that he made was that the formal "activation" steps are relatively new to the process. He said that when they started Photoreading there wasn't anything but the photoreading step. He would take stacks of say 10 books and photoread them each day. Doing this for days, weeks, and months at a time he began to notice lots of interesting effects in his dreams, spontaneous activations, such as his story about the 3-D physics diagrams if you have heard about that one.

The thing is to take a very curious experimenting attitude towards the process - play with it. I have been photoreading regularly for about half a year - not 10 books a day, but occasionally I will do some large batches of PRing, and I am beginning to notice my regular reading pace effortlessly expanding to phenomenal levels. It kind of crept up on me. One week I noticed that I had read about 5 books and I thought back over the last month and saw that I had read about 20 books. Now this had really increased my excitement about the PR process and I am photoreading all of my books even if I am simply going to read them from cover to cover in a more or less leisurely way - fiction / novels / short stories.

Another thing I have been playing with is finding books on tape or CD and their in print version and then I photoread the book and listen to the book on CD in my car. I am planning on then photoreading the book a few more times and going through the book at various paces to play with my reading rates - even into areas where it seems there is no comprehension.

When doing this method, the preview & the postview steps are needed?

Thanks

Only if you want to activate the book. Though a 90 second preview is always useful, to get a general idea of what the book is.
