If you're not sure it's working go back to doing all the steps.
If you haven't learned it yet, don't start skipping steps... without experiencing you'll not know what is supposed to be happening.
If you don't have time to learn Photoreading first then now is not the time to learn it.
Learn first on non fiction books since textbooks require some adaption of the systmen and without knowing the system you're not going to know if you're not learning photoreading or are merely having trouble understanding the textbook.
For textbooks, mind mapping becomes a must do if you want to have quick notes and avoid end of year review, refreshers and cramming.
