For leisure reading or pleaure reading, PhotoRead then Reapid read.
For literary critique you focus on, theme, plot, message,era etc in successive superread and dips. In which case you would also create a mind map.
"Would like" ... implies that it's okay if you don't find it.
Make sure you have specific questions... the character may not be having an adventure so much as a misadventure ... your mind can be very literal so a better question might be what is going on with X character, Why is this happening to X, How does X solve or get out of this? Where is this leading X.
