Syntopic reading is when you are researching a number of authors with the intent to find out specific information about one aspect of the subject and all the books are activated with the same question in mind.

To apply photoreading to learning a language, photoread all the material often (daily if possible). By all means activate by applying the language whether listening to the audio portion of the lession, catching programming in the langauge, reading comics in the language, etc. While you may not be using the books you PhotoRead for activation you still need to be doing something to activate. For direct learning one must apply the skill that they expect to demonstrate.
