i want to write for a particular show.
can i syntopic read a book on creating characters, viewpoints, plotting and a copy of an original script from the show i want to write for, because i have read that you are supposed to syntopic read various books on the SAME subject, but i will read books on different subjects to culminated into one result. would i be better of PR them as individual books but for the same purpose?

I would suggest 2 syntopic reads one as you describe but an additional on on more than one script. Since you intend to write for a particular show you will need to know the characters as they already are. A syntopic read to help you to get to know them seems important for this progject. While studying a book on creating a character viewpoint is a great idea, without a study of the existing characters you risk 'changing them'.

If you have a clear purpose what you want from the books you can always PhotoRead them one after the other, just mentally remember your purpose/intention upon opening and closing each book, it only takes a couple of seconds.
