If can can add something!
I've read and used Laura Day's books where she uses exercices quite similar to HTT. And I agree that I have some control over my destiny, but that's not the point.
I did an HTT where I saw I guy I didn't know in a company where I was selling my training services. And his picture kept popping up! I didn't know him and he wasn't my contact in this company.
So anyway, I was attentive to him and I went and talked to him. Well, this guy helped me to organize trainings in this company and I made revenues with this company in the five figures in the last year because of him (he did all the work, really).
And my contact didn't help me at all. Now without my HTT, I don't think I would have paid attention to him because I just didn't know him and he didn't stand out that much.
So to me HTT is more about finding information to which I don't have access to consciously than predicting my predetermined future. Of course, somebody believing in a rigid destiny would probably experience something different than what I just described, filtering their HTT from those beliefs.
I do recommend using HTT enough that the access to information is fast and easily interpreted consciously.
Also, if you want to get really good, you can calibrate to the submodalities of when you get a hit and contrast with the submodalities of when you are confused with your HTT and it doesn't seem to work. That way you have a calibration device to know you are on track and realise that there are different feelings attached to different types of information.
P.S. Sorry if my sentence structures seem weird, I speak french most of the time.
