I'm learning Hebrew right now... I think first of all, you need to learn the alphabet. For that, photoreading is overkill. In my class, we are using "Biblical Hebrew" by Page Kelley. I suggest that you just make flashcards for the alphabet and basics of reading, then once your mind recognizes them, you can begin reading language guides (sentence structure, grammar, usage) to get familiar with how the letters are used to produce a language. Most of all it's just practicing and being inventive with creating new ways to learn things.
