I am interested in Learning Languages that do not use Latin alphabets--namely Arabic and Hebrew.

I understand that the Arabic language do not use vowels--only in teaching books and Qur'an

How would I go about it? PR Arabic Alphabet Books, then passively listen to Stadard Arabic teaching tapes ("Teach Yourself" series)and then go for the plung--try reading and or speaking. Any language learners--especially of Semetic Languages-- please reply.

I have no expeience with Semetic Languages but PhotoReading works in any language so I would suggest you apply the same as anyonw would learning another language.

Expose you ears to the spoken language. Soaps are good as they use the colloquial language.

PhotoRead textbooks and training books for the langauage. Get hold of books aimed towards young teens in the language to PhotoRead and activate. Start using the language as soon a possible.

I'm learning Hebrew right now... I think first of all, you need to learn the alphabet. For that, photoreading is overkill. In my class, we are using "Biblical Hebrew" by Page Kelley. I suggest that you just make flashcards for the alphabet and basics of reading, then once your mind recognizes them, you can begin reading language guides (sentence structure, grammar, usage) to get familiar with how the letters are used to produce a language. Most of all it's just practicing and being inventive with creating new ways to learn things.
