That effect occurs whenever you expose yourself to anyones elses ideas or thoughts. Be they in a Book, Movie, news, speech or conversation and if it's emotionally charged for you then even more so..
The fact of the matter is that by PhotoReading my non conscious mind is filtering the information with cold reasoning rather than emotions which is really colours our ability to judge what we consider right or wrong against our value system.
I see the effect of this when I read advertising promoting products. I am not sucked in by the emotional language and instead found that my noncscious mind is pointing out to me that what is really being said or not said. By passing the emotional pull these advertisment hold. My non conscious mind challenges me to prove that what they are selling has value for me and I was surprise to realise that many many advertisements sell emotional fluff. Often they don't even tell you what you will learn from reading the book.
Because I have all the informattion not just a little bit I am not like the frog sitting in water getting cooked alive while the water heats, up not jumping out because I'm not aware of the fact that I'm in hot water because the temperature is only going up a little bit at a time.
To me it's the same with PhotoReading. My mind gets the whole thing in one go so if it isn't right for me I can jump out straight away.
Really when it comes down to it the nonconscious mind is able to filter information according to our beliefs much better than the conscious mind.
Ever attend a seminar where the speaker got everyone all motivated? Consciously everything looked briliant you were on an emotional high yet non consciously it didn't work the non conscious mind wasn't sold or hyped up and you are back to your normal self in a day or two.
Personally I found the non conscious mind more aware of my values than I am of them consciously and when something goes against my values it's my nonconscious mind that rings the warning bells when something doesn't ring true for me. I think our values get tangled more when the conscious mind and emotions get involved.
