Taking the risk of repetition, here's my question.

How does PR work with Mathematics and Physics textbooks ?

I understand the process would be similar to PRing other books. But I find it difficult to believe that I will be able to digest complicated physics concepts and maths theorems just by photoreading.

Please suggest your experiences

Thanks,

The mind takes it in and starts working on it for you. Since they are subjects that take analytical thinking you would naturally take more time for it on the analytical stage. PhotoReading will slice the time required if you allow yourself to superread and dip a few activation passes before you start the analytical reading stage.

What slows people down with the activation of text like this is they try to get the analytical reading done first without having an understanding of the whole subject in general before going into the detail of the specific parts.

Thanks Alex,

There's one question that still haunts me.

Of course I have just finished the book and dont have worked on it. But knowing the possiblilty will surely throw out negative blocks out and make success with PRing much easier.

What I want to know is ... say I read a book. Once I PR , all the info in the book is now stored in my subconscious mind. My conscious awareness of the material will be limited to the questions that ask of myself.
i.e. the info is there but will be given to me in the form of answers to questions.

I wont have complete conscious recognition of the material I have read. What I mean to say is I wont have the feel of having read the book page by page, word by word. The info will come to be when I need it.

Am I right ??

to add to the above post...

also what I mean is " I will "consciously know" only that which I dig out from the unconscious using questions .... " Other info will stay buried in my sunconscious and I wont know consciously.

Am I right ?

You are correct it's knowledge that you own not the ability to parrot back the text word for word that you become aware of from a book.

To know it as if you have read it you need to do manual activation. This starts witht he questions you ask of yourself. When you ask yourself mind probing question sometimes you realise that you already consciously know the answer other times you need to use the book to help you become aware of it.

You have a lot of information in your non conscious mind. It really does turn up in you life on a need to know basis. You know how to butter toast, that knowledge is not required when you cross a road or start a car. Since the conscious mind can only hold 7 (plus or minus 2) bits of information per second. The knowledge of buttering toast is not on your conscious mind because it would use up valuable resources of your conscious mind that needs to look after you personal safety, notice what is going on around you, perhap maintain a conversation you have going.

Calling up information is often automatic and can come quickly, on cue, or like trying to remember someones name, it comes up when you are relaxed and don't need to remember it anymore but want to. Therefore one cannot guarantee that when you PhotoRead your textbooks you will automatically call up the information in a test. Strenghten your body mind connection with manual activation and you can improve your chances.

Ok Alex ,

Sometimes we read for the fun of reading. Just to enjoy being immersed in the book and enjoiy the images that come up in your mind when you read ( say when you read a adventure book ).

Wont we loose the above experience when we do PR ? Of course we get the added advantage of time savings.

2. Also when PRing a mystery novel or adventure story , how do I formulate questions. I dont know what to ask because I dont know what the book is all about.

Also , I read fiction for fun and the thrill and not for knowledge which I would use later. Most of it is untrue anyway so I dont want to store negative stuff or "murders" etc in my subconscious mind.

Hope you get my question !!

Thanks !

Not at all. We always retain the option of slowing down and tradionally reading (or rapid reading with rhythmic perusal; it is what becomes when you hone the skill).

PhotoReading Whole Mind System gives you more choices and allows you to make effective reading choices so that you can get your reading done in the time you have available.

Would I still PhotoRead a novel and let it incubate? Yes, absolutely. Because this gives me a depth of enjoyment that I have not found with traditional reading. I notice more of the important details regardless of the fact that I am going through the book much faster. Will I finish a novel in 1/3 the time? Not necessarily. Ever watched a video or DVD and rewound it to watch it again? I know I have, Planes Trains and Automobiles comes to mind the scene where they realise they are on the path of oncoming traffic. Well worth watching in slow motion for the special effects so naturally viewing that movie took longer But that's personal enjoyment. Why cease to savour a book just because you PhotoRead? I Read more books and finish a novel much faster than before. A good movie takes about 2 hours to unfold so why not a book?

For enjoyment rapid read the book from cover to cover. For a critique of the book, who, what, why, when, where and how, applies same as with any book or article (all text in fact), You'll also be looking for things like plot, setting, characters, theme, motive, moral of the story.

If you habitually read them don't you think your subconscious would be affected by them either way? Just because you consciously read them you don't add a barrier that doesn't already exist. This barrier is your personal values and morals. We are all capable of murder and to say what we read or don't read influences our actions is only true to a degree. The overriding factor remains our moral values. Ironically with PhotoReading your mind will censor it according to your moral code better than traditional reading.

e.g. You can get the impression that someones actions is justified because of the given point in the story you just reached. It may be only in the latter half of the book where you discover the ulterior motive that removes the justification of the actions. While traditionally reading you may hold on to the fact that the action is justified for 2 or 3 hours or even days if you are merely reading a chapter for a night. This natually will have an effect on your priciples or moral values.

However when PhotoRead it you will know as soon as your non conscious mind start processing the book that the action isn't justified and you suspend judgement when you rapid read it. The effect on the your values or principles will be lessened because you see the whole picture sooner.

If you read or PhotoRead a murder mystery novel you are making the conscious decision to be entertained. When you read or PhotoRead a non fiction book you are making the conscious decision to be informed. Your censor is at work.

You can be influenced by information coming at you non-consiously. Just notice what happens during the "Voting Season". The folks that are 'not interested' in politics are the ones that find themselves most influenced by the advertising produced by the parties. Those who follow politics are much more grounded in their values and are not easily pulled by the emotional tugging the advertising contains.

Knowledge and a purpose allows you to make a conscious decision how, what comes at you consciously and outside of your conscious awareness, will be accepted by your personality. When you don't provide the purpose (entertainment, to learn, to acquire a new skill) then the information that comes at you non consciously is accepted as truth.

With PhotoReading we always make the choice to PhotoRead a book, so we are aware of what the book is about in general. Then when you pick up a novel you know it is for entertainment only and not to be taken as truth. In that way you are much better off than watching a 30 second television commercial that aims to convince you you need to drink a certain soft drink and have a hip time on a beach to enjoy life and they do work you do buy the drink because that image had a non conscious influence on you.

Thanks Alex for the detailed replies.

I am sometimes overwhelmed by the possibilities of making PR work right.

There is so much information out there. There is no aspect of life that cant be dramatically improved by reading and acting on the information.

Generally the "reading" or the information colletion is most time consuming itselt. And atlease I drop out in between because "digesting" a whole complete picture of a new concept or rather understanding a concept or a subject ( say math , physics etc ) in its entirety is sometimes so big a task ( especially with the limited time I have with a full time job ), I most of the times dont read what I know I should read.

Now if PRing can reduce reading time by one third, which I believe can be improved upon, this practically opens up a whole new world.

When I step in a library or a book store .. or even if I look at the colletion of books I have and not read, I wonder what I could achieve in life if only I could soak up like a sponge into me all the ideas and principles these book talk about.

I am sure you are very advanced in PR technique and must have a ball learning new things ??? It just looks like you need to gather up a bunch of books on the topic you want to learn about , PR them for a week or so and bingo !!

Any comments ???

Thanks is advance ,

Whatever you need to know you can find in a book. It's a matter of purpose. What do you want/need from the Author? An example that I have given previously and is buried in the number of post that I have made so I give it again from time to time.

Shortly after I learned to PhotoRead my computer decided to get creative and not open window. This usually mean reinstall the operating system or reformat. I had some data on the computer that I really wanted to save however I could not access through windows. I knew that Dos ran in the background and that I should be able to access my hard drive to copy the files I wanted to save to floppy but guess what?

I don't know Dos, I'm not a computer programmer. What to do? Well I knew I needed to know some specific commands to access and copy my files on my harddrive to floppies. Lucky for me a friend had left some old How to Dos books with me otherwise I would have had to make a trip to the library. Knowing what I needed to do I PhotoRead the book with the intent to find the commands I needed quickly. Took me about 3 minutes to learn what I needed to know of Dos and the commands to travel to the files on my hard drive and an hour to copy the files across.

Yes. The impact of PhotoReading can run deeper than merely getting your reading done faster. For each of us it is different and the only way to discover what PhotoReading holds for us is to do it. I've PhotoRead books and moved to activation and then given up on it it in a matter of minutes because "there is nothing in this book that I don't already know". What intriques me is the wonder... did I know it before I PhotoRead it?

Oh and it isn't a "feeling" of familarity that I get. It's straight forward I already know this I'm not being told anything new here or this is boring I don't need to know this I'm not going to use it reaction. I can safely not activate a book like that without feeling like I missed something because I've also noticed that when I need the information and I want to activate it and make it conscious I know exactly which book I need to go to to get the information quickly. Even if I'm not interested in the book I seem to know that it contains information that is useful to someone else when they mention an aspect of the subject.

There comes a point where one must let ggo of the analysis paralysis and just experience the system first hand. This does mean suspending disbelief while doing it for a while. Just like we suspend the disbelief that brushing our teeth prevents decay. We do it even though it may not be 100% successful all the time.
