I mean, do you have to scan the book or you can just take a brief look at the chapters and the words in bold, find what you are looking for, rapid read them and make a mind map.

And this 5 day test... I think in that case PR is useless. How can a book on marketing help you build a business plan? Look at the contents, super read it and rapid read the paragraphs you notice that suit your need.

I really like to think that PR works... it just that I haven't seen any results yet. With all these steps including superreading, rapid reading and mindmapping... what's the point of Photoreading? I find it kind of useless.
I just spend the same time in activation as I rapid read the book.

I am pretty sure that it works when you have multiple-answer exams but I live in a country(Bulgaria) where teachers are used to giving a subject and waiting for you to write exactly what they have written in their textbooks. I know it's not right but they don't!

Really, tell me about the way you people leared to photoread! Tell me how did you managed to get rid of the fear "I know nothing after all that reading"! I want to hear something real not just theory!

I would really appreciate if someone tells me about their experience with PR!!

Thanks guys!

I kept trying and trying and trying for 3 months. It took me three months to learn from the book. It helped to learn from the little tips in this forum as well.

Basically, I ended up photoreading 5 or more books a day and activating one book a week like in the 5 day test. For example, I picked Sun Tzu's Art of War to do the 5 day test on. Over 5 days, I photoread and activated the book. But I also photoread 4 or 5 other books concurrently without activating them. The 5 day test taught me how to activate a book.

"And this 5 day test... I think in that case PR is useless. How can a book on marketing help you build a business plan? Look at the contents, super read it and rapid read the paragraphs you notice that suit your need."

I found that I didn't really know where to start, so I photoread my marketing textbook asking myself..."I desire the information in the book, "Marketing, Real people, Real Decisions" (2001 Pearson Education Canada Inc., Toronto, Ontario, Canada Prentice Hall Publishing) to write a maketing plan and successfully market my product." What Photo Reading really did was tell me where to dip in the book. Some subtitles I skipped because they were irrelevant, some passages I just felt like I had to dip in and rapid read the sentence. (There was just a feeling in my gut that there was information there that I had to know to write my plan.) Photoreading helped me notice what I needed. It helped me find which section were relevent to my purpose and which were not and where to look in those sections.

"Tell me how did you managed to get rid of the fear "I know nothing after all that reading"! I want to hear something real not just theory!"

All I know after I photoread was that I just went through the process of photoreading, and if it works, heck, why not. If not, that's cool anyways. I can activate it later to see what happens. But I also feel differently after I photoread and say my closing affirmations. Plus I know I see the third (blip) page, so I know I did it right. So I do the 5 day test and eventually the book gels for me. All I have to do is look at my mind map and I usually know where in the book I found that point on my maps.

That's my experience. Hope it helps.

Karamazov.

If you want to learn to PhotoRead you will at least need to get the book.

Your comment about the 5 day test is odd because the 5 day test requires you to put all the steps of PhotoReading into practice. I'm not sure how you can judge PhotoReading because clearly do have no understanding of the PhotoReading steps.

Have you tried it?

Alex

Yes, I have the book!!
Why don't you try the 3 day test -
1. Day one - take a brief look of the book and its contents and rapid read one third of it
2. Day two - take a brief look of it and rapid read the second third
3. Day three - take a brief look of it and rapid read the last part

Isn't that the same! Just in three days you managed to read the book. It will be much easier if you know what you are looking for then you can do it much faster.

Of all the steps I don't understand the "photoreading" one! Why is that?
You preview the book(manage to take some notes), then super read it, after that rapid read it. In that case you did "read" the book three times!!!! After that you make the mind map and... voilla!

What is the photoreading for?

Karamazov; i really don't care for the belligerent, flippant, disrespectful tone you are using with Alex. Alex has already mastered the system and you would be wise to listen to her. It will be your loss not her's because she has already mastered the system and is reaping the benefits.

To address your question regarding Photoreading. The other than conscious mind can outprocess the conscious mind ten billion to one. The other than conscious mind can attend to 20,000 different things going on at the same time. The conscious mind can attend to only 5,6,7,maybe 8 things at the same time. This may be the reason why the course it titled the Photoreading Whole Mind system because when you photoread you are employing the other than conscious mind.

It is to your advantage and benefit to have material from a book operating on both the conscious and other than conscious level.Learning becomes faster and easier.

I think you owe Alex a public apology.

????? - Why would I waste that much time with a book when I can do it faster?

>>>The Zen master poured the tea for his visitor and the visitor kept talking and talking telling everything he knows and the zen master notice the would be student wasn't readby because he just kept talking and talking. So the master kept pourint the tea and the cup was overflowing still the student kept talking and talking what he knew but he couldn't do what the master could do and said he wanted to learn. Finally the liquid ran into the students lap. the student jumps up and says. "hey. that cup is already full!"

The master replies so are you, you are so full nothing more will go in.<<<<

You have not done the steps in the book yet want us to give you the magic of PhotoReading?

[quoteWhat is the photoreading for? [/QUOTE]

Preconscious processing so that you know what questions to ask to find the information in the book faster and not even need to rapid read a step which prifient PhotoReaders only do with books they want to laze around with usually for novels and enjoyment.

As already stated the 5 day test is a way of putting all the steps of PhotoReading into practice. No one can help you if you have made up your mind that you're not going to follow the steps.

We cannot change your paradigm by giving you your old paradigm only faster.

PhotoReading not traditional reading only faster. This is what you seem to have made up your mind it should be.

Apply the steps or not, Your choice.

Alex

"This may be the reason why the course it titled the Photoreading Whole Mind system because when you photoread you are employing the other than conscious mind.
"
It's not the reason, the reason is that you employ BOTH (conscious and other-than-conscious mind). Maybe you still need to practice photoreading you seem to have skipped that one - Practice makes perfect.

I am not trying to insult you Alex. I know the theory of it. Just wanted some opinions from people who have mastered that system(other than LearningStrategies employees). How did they manage to do that? How much time did it take? I used the photoreading while preaparing for my final exam and I'm sure if there weren't the mind maps I would have failed!
Alex, how much time do you think one needs to master it, to see the benefits?
Is the "other-than-consciuous" mind the "tank" where the behaviour is "saved", I mean where your habits, native language, walk, type of perception etc. If it is and you can pull something from there(like the book you've read last evening) do you think you can pull something else using the basics of the photoreading, its algorithm. Like the reasons of your instintive and intuitive actions(like "Wow, why did I say that?")

Thanks!

Karamazov; Of course the Photoreading Whole Mind System employs both the other than conscious mind and the conscious mind but really do i need to spell that out for you?It is so clear and obvious that i don't need to say to you ok Karamazov when you preview a book you are using your conscious mind,ok Karamazov when you superread and dip you are using your conscious mind.Everybody already knows that!

You posted a post asking a question what is Photoreading for and i answered your question. I gave you an explanation explaining how powerful the other than conscious mind is. Then i mentioned to you that maybe that is why the system is called the Photoreading Whole Mind System is that it is employing the other than conscious mind. Of course it involves both the conscious and other than conscious mind because you are using the conscious mind when you determine your purpose, preview the book, and form mind probing questions that is so obvious really think about it do you think i need to spell out everything for you? You think i thought Photoreading involves only the other than conscious mind?
you are mistaken if that is what you think.

I said this before and i will say it again maybe you will hear it this time. You would be wise to listen to Alex and take her advice. If you choose not to fine that's your choice but you will be missing out and losing on the benefits that Photoreading has to offer not her. She is the person getting benefits from Photoreading and that would be your loss not hers.

I still think you owe Alex a public apology and oh by the way i am not an employee of Learning Strategies Corporation.

I am not looking for quotes from the book and theory! I am looking for some real experience. Photoread4me, where do you say that you have mastered the system? Where do you say that you actually CAN photoread? Please, if you have such experience share it with us!

Karamazov; you say you are looking for real experience? No amount of looking to others for proof or validation that Photoreading works will help you learn Photoreading. You have to experience Photoreading for yourself.

Where did i say that i can Photoread? I learned Photoreading back in February of 1996. Where did i say that i mastered Photoreading? I have used Photoreading to pass examinations in the telecommunications arena.I have used Photoreading to get a higher paying job.

All that is nice however Karamazov you have to do this for yourself. No one can do this for you. Hearing about others experience with Photoreading is nice but that will not help you learn Photoreading until you make the decision to try it yourself and see what happens.

Incidentally; trying to figure what the experience should be like or having a preconceived notion of what the experience should be like can be more of a hinderance than help. Better to just have a open mind and see what experiences you have. There are thousands of posts on this website of people's positive experiences with Photoreading but until you get in there and do it yourself you will not know. If you put in just a half of energy into doing the Photoreading system instead of wasting your time and energy trying to find proof that Photoreading works you would be well on your way.
