I used Photoreading and Mind Mapping to complete my BA. The only method of evaluation used by the college was what I wrote in my papers. When I came across a good quote or reference, I would just put a few words on the branch and where I found it (EX- "GQ p.125") next to my map. I wrote all my papers that way without one linear note! Sometimes, I would map out my paper first and then write it. Another thing I did was to write the name of the book in the middle of the map. I hope that helps.
