I think you missed the point. It was helpful that he knew it was going to happen in a few different ways.
A.) He was prepared for it when it came.
B.) He was in a better mood, and not so irritated by the matter.
C.)This can open up opportunities to reschedule/recoordinate different things to help solve/get through problems.
