How can one conduct a test with any accuracy when there are humans involved.
Take 25 to 30 people of near identail age, same general demographical backgound. Teach them all exactly the same stuff. With the same teacher, same climaticly adjusted room access to the same textbook with the same number of hours teaching and then test them.
That absurd test is being conducted every day in every country with a westernised type school system and what does it prove?
One or two excel, there are a few that scored high, then some that averaged in score and then some that are below average and then some that fail miserably. In some cases more than half the class fails. Does that mean school doesn't work? Does that mean school is even teaching the basics of reading?
All around the world we are proving that humans do not conform very well to proving something works or it doesn't. With so many factors in common why do not all students score more or less the same grade. If the teacher were graded on the results then teachers don't work.
Like it or not that is a fact. Teachers can only guide the learning process. The student decides what they want to learn and if they don't have a purpose the learning becomes a struggle.
2 days ago here on Australian news it came to light that kids are not being taught to read properly. They don't know how to read or get inquisitive, or to think about what they are reading. Why? Department of Education says "More than half the teachers don't know it themselves so they can't teach it."
PhotoReading does offer a way to fill that gap.
PhotoRead for me is correct that it is stated on page 21 of the 3rd edition of the PhotoReading book, that we may have little or no conscious awareness of any of the material hence the next step Activation.
Unfortunately I do not have a copy of the book the author is using.
