PhotoReading is not speedreading.
PhotoReading isn't about pushing the eyeball faster across the page trying to comprehend as you read. In the US anything above 800 wpm is skimming it's because courts have ruled that it is physically impossible for someone to read at speeds greater than this given that the conscious mind can only process 7 plus or minus 9 bits of information a second. Therefore at 60 seconds to a minute 9 x 60 = 540 the best "reading speed"
PhotoReading allows the non-conscious mind to process the information so that it is possible for a beginner to get their reading done in 1/3 the time it takes to tradtionally read.
I am not interested in participating in a "Speed Reading" contest because I teach people to PhotoRead. And I want them to understand that when you do all the steps of the PhotoReading system you will have a the same or better comprehension of 70 to 90% of the material that you have PhotoRead and that all the information is available to you. And your actual WPM reading speed has little impact on you getting that knowledge.

For clarification I PhotoRead I did not speed read. And I only did the PhotoReading step.
