How long does what we PR stay in our memory?

Is there an amount of time that elapses between when we PR something and activate it that we should go back and PR again?

Use it or lose it. Only you will be able to determine how long something stays in your memory. It it is important to your career or well being you will probably apply what you learn from a book more than remember what was in the book.

You can read a book and activate it years later just as if you only PhotoRead it the day before. Or you can feel like you've never seen the book before. Depends on the individual, the topic how important it was and still is. If it is a book for studies, PhotoRead it again befoer activating. the 3 to 5 minutes spent doing that will often make activation and learning easier anyway. If you have already PhotoRead the book you can safely add the PhotoReading step to the activation, no need to incubate again.

The key words utilized in the preparation and then again in the activation phase of PR are analogous to pebbles that are laid to mark a footpath through the underbrush. If the trail is not regularly used, it become overgrown, the endpoint is still there but the path to get to it is obscured.

If the information in a particular book or preferably a group of books is important to you, then one need to construct more permanent roadways in lieu of the footpath. How? Memory mapping, content mapping, spelling your keys words backwards in you mind, ABC list, mnemonics, image streaming, cross reference it to other information in your mind, probe, probe, probe … accessing and utilizing the information.
