You use your inner mind and consciou mind when rapid reading and superreading. The inner mind is creating the mental images as you read so you can comprehend what you have read.

The non conscious mind knows what you've read, consciously you do not. The conscious mind can only handle 5 + or - 2 bits of information a second. PhotoReading goes well beyond that.
