Chris, are you drawing a quick mind map of what you want to put into the essay? What slows one up aside from typing speed is the fact that the mind does not work perfectly in a linear fashion. Essays should be written middle, conclusion then introduction.
No, one know exactly what they are going to say until they've started saying it. So it's a bit daft to write the intoduction first unless you've mind mapped what you are going to say at each part. The syntopic reading is great for collecting the important data you want to include in an essay but it doesn't order it for perfect writing.
I sometimes draw up a quick mind map of what I want to write for some of the longer posts. Since the answers come to mind faster than I can type them and I can forget them just as fast only to have to recall them as I write.
