I remember, just after I started working at Learning Strategies, talking to someone about the series. I had yet to listen to the tapes, and he told me he'd had a major confrontation with a family member who he was very close to, and felt awful about the situation and about himself. He said he felt terrible inside. He had no one to turn to and finally had to leave the house. He got into his car and put in "Being." He didn't expect much, but gradually his feelings of anger, frustration, and sadness wore away. He felt better and even hopeful about his situation. By the time he pulled into the driveway he felt wonderful.
I've heard a couple of posts where people say it's not a powerful tape series but I always think about this man's experience. For him it helped melt away the negative feelings he had and accomplish good, warm feelings. He needed to hear positive affirmations and feedback, something he was not getting from the people around him.
