I was brought up in the understanding that you are to read from left to right, from beginning to end and parse the entire text in this way. But from the introduction of concepts in the photoreading book on ways to read text ive come to the realization that possibly there are different ways to interpet text.

One on of my questions is, am I able to focus on one entire paragraph and understand its meaning, because if I can focus on words and understand theyre meaning then it should be possible to do this with multiple groups of words, sentences and paragraphs.

I am looking how one would be able to understand meaning from a paragraph by just focusing on it and if anyone does this already.

I understand that everyone has different ways of interpeting text and if we could share methods on what people do when reading then we can consider changing our ways.

Input on this would be greatly appreciated.
