Mini-Rant start:
It's a shame that there isn't a bundled GC, MO, PR forum where people who have done all these courses can discuss them in a single forum, as we would all have the similar memory threads from studying these courses.A lot could be achieved with this format.It's a shame and a missed opportunity End of Mini-Rant.
Ok, back to what I was saying.We all have threads within our mind, our unique memory webs.
We have a link in our minds between "door" and "open."
Almost everybody has that common link, because a common action upon a door would be to open it.
If we were to read "open the door" or "the door was opened" that link is immediate.It doesn't take a lot of thought to understand what's being said.In fact the comprehension is almost immediate.
As it says in the MO (Memory optimizer) course, "when you already have threads in your memory web for something, you have immediate recognition of it"
The fact is though, your memory web and the author's of a book are unlikely to be the same.Sometimes they are similar (which is why you may like some authors over others, as I do with my technical books).
The PR book talks about "the train of thought" which is basically the gold dust.
If you can get onto the train of thought, somehow develop the technique for doing this, you can read and understand a lot.
The MO course teaches us that we should lay our own tracks, but to also push ourselves and try to follow the authors tracks.
It's a balancing act.
I can feel your frustration and curiosity coming through in this thread, and I feel the same way.Personally I would have liked LSC to have gone into "what exactly is comprehension" more in the PR course, but alas.
I have been using the Genius Code techniques to find answers to my questions relating to this subejct we are discussing here.
Believe me I am spending real time on this and am certain I will come up with some new technique or strategy, or whatever, but there'll be something.
The strategies in the PR course are good and I love the course and what it can do for people.
However (and I know that LSC would totally agree, as they've said it themselves in the GC course) we can come up with new techniques to constantly better ourselves and to share that with others.
So come on, keep the thoughts in this thread going.We're definitely going to make progress here, I can feel it!
