Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ PhotoReading, Memory Optimizer is it 10 or 20

Hello,

In his book "PhotoReading", Paul R. Scheele, in page 56 said "wait at least ten to twenty minutes". However, in page 69 he said "wait after photoreading before activating at least twenty minutes".

SO, I would like to know what is the minimum time to wait before activating?
Also, if you add all the time that you are going to use to do all the steps required in the photoreading (including the 20 minutes), you will find that photo reading is not any better than the conventional speed reading method. Can you please advise me if I didn't understand the photoreading correctly?

The waiting time to incubate decreases as a person becomes more experienced with PhotoReading. And even an experienced PhotoReader will probably get more out of a longer incubation than a shorter one.

I would like to know something else about PR,

If I just photoread a book without any preview or postview and without activation will I get anything from it? (i.e. will any of the information that is stored in my sudconcious be available to me when I need them?)

There is a phenomenon called "direct learning" which may interest you. Here is a set of threads discussing it. Also, go to "search", above, and look for it that way. Direct learning comes to those who practice PhotoReading and activation consistently over time.

One book alone and as a beginner don't expect much. Skipping the steps will is a waste of time when you are learning. The steps are the short cut to learning PhotoReading quickly.

The steps are like checking your seatbelt, mirrors, putting the key in the ignition, starting the car, putting your foot on the break puting the car into gear. Look into the mirrors, turn on the indicator, move foot off the break and onto the accelerator slowly turn the wheel....

Remember being told to do all that stuff when you learned to drive a car? You still do them but faster and without thinking step by step what comes next.

Successful PhotoReading requires a preview (90 seconds you usually do it when you select the book from a shelf anyway) post view, if you don't post view how is the mind supposed to get curious about it? Activate, train your mind to bring the information to consciousness quickly. And if you skimp on the affirm and purpose as well it like filling a holey bucket with a teaspoon.
