Anything you try to do to accelerate spontaneous activation makes it manual activation. It isn't spontaneous if you work at it so let it go.
Use manual activation completely and consciously on at least one book a week for a couple of months and sure enough you will have spontaneously activated a book here and there.
Don't be surprised if you don't realise you've had spontaneous activation. It mostly occurs with 20/20 hindsight.
