I find it so so hard to believe thats it working for some of you...

how many of you people has it really helped? does it work with everyone? especially with a skeptic like me? why is photoreading not more popular? like in the news and stuff? why dont we adopt it in school if it really works... humans are always pushing for greater productivity... why isn't photoreading being pushed?

and how does the brain process so much so quickly.... i find it hard to comprehend things that i'm reading at normal pace (no speed reading or photoreading)...

I dont beleive it either, but wanna give it a try. I tried to register for their seminar in NY/NYC but have to wait 8 months, so it means they have something to say! I have their home study course, I wil try it, atleast I wont lose anything if I dont gain any.

Hello Ruthless; no it does not work for everyone. If you tell your mind this cannot possibly work your mind says ok it won't work. If you tell your mind i believe this is possible your mind says ok. The human brain is more powerful than the most powerful computers on earth. I am not here to convert you to being a photoreader. Paul Scheele the creator of photoreading said that some skepticism is healthy and he is right. What photoreading does is challenge our old way of thinking. Think about that. What if people said i don't believe we can invent a machine that flys in the sky and transports hundreds of people thousands of miles from one city to another or one country to another country. What if people said i don't think it is possible to send a machine to mars and take pictures of mars. What is people said i don't think it is possible to find a cure for polio.Photoreading will work if you want it to work but if you decide it won't work your mind says fine and it doesn't work.Photoreading will not work for everyone.

i agree with you.... it may not work for everyone... but why arent more people adopting it? as i mentioned before, why is it not taught in schools or at the workplace to make employees more productive when checking their email (thats a huge problem these days in businesses)

Business are using photoreading. Corporations like Dupont, AT&T, American Express and other corporations are using photoreading. Learning strategies has gone to colleges and taught photoreading & accelerated learning to colleges. For photoreading to work for you you have to be open minded. Once again some skepticism is ok & healthy.

Perhaps maybe the reason more people aren't adopting it is that they have not heard of it yet or they have heard of it but they don't believe it is possible for it to work.

firstly, photoread4me i really appreciate the responses. my first few messages was not an attack to you but rather photoreading... but i still feel i need evidence (unbiased statistics etc) to really believe, because i've tried systems before... tony buzan mind mapping, etc where it says you can unleash parts of your brain's power... but nothing has worked, hence, i'm a little skeptical even though i really want to learn)

now how does the mind grasp information so quickly? if you're photoreading, cant you read like 1 per second...? how does the mind process this?

how long does it take to do a photoreading course? how many hours? and how many days of practise? do you get better with time?

Ruthless; i do not feel you are attacking me. Let me clarify that photoreading is not reading. When you are photoreading you are exposing information to the other than conscious mind. After you have photoread a book you have little if any conscious awareness of what you have photoread. It is when you activate that you obtain conscious awareness of what you photoread. You asked how does the mind process this? I suggest that you send Paul Scheele a email to address this question since Paul has spent many years studying how the human mind works & how people learn.

There is your answer why PhotoReading is not more popular. You want proof before doing it. Well that's the case of the majority of people. The ones willing to suspend their doubts do give it a go.

While you are lamenting it does not appear more popular it has taken off Japan considers the system important enough to have translated the course and trained Learning Strategies has trained 19 instructors for Japan alone.

How long have you "tried" them and how?

By the way to "try" means to expect failure. You need to ever do or not do. Tony Buzan's mind mapping does work however people are so judgemental about their artisit ability they labour the process too much in the early stages. The true talent with mind mapping comes as you mind map.

How does the mind know you're hungry, How do you know you need to take a bathroom break? How does the mind know this? Brain research just got started about 1997 when access to equipment like fMRIs became more accessible for reasearch. Some of the things people thought about the brain are proven to be false. Like the "synaptic gap" is not a gap at all. tiny dentrils grow to fill those gaps.

So the exact how can only be guessed at. However we do know a couple of things.

The eye alone is able to pick up 10,000,000 bits of information per second yet we are consciously only aware of 40 bits a second.

We also know that we have a preconscious processor. If you don't believe this explain your habits. The things you do without thinking. Even things like driving a car are handled by your preconscious processor. Your reflex reaction when someone throws a ball your way is run by your other than conscious mind. The information that a ball was thrown your way is data that was processed by your preconscious processor.

PhotoReading assigns the task of processing the information to the preconscious processor. With activation we allow ourselves to become consciously aware of the information to the same or better level of comprehension we have with traditional reading.

Everyone is different. If you doubt that the system works you probably won't even spend the same amount of time learning it as someone who is willing to suspend their doubt.

Also your Self-Esteem as a learner will either speed up or inhibit the learning process.

You can learn PhotoReading in a weekend with a weekend seminar. If you're serious and apply all the exercises in the home study course you will find that it is about the same amount of time as a weekend seminar.

do you get better with time?

If you use it.
