It is always easy to start PR in the photofocus state. But after few pages, there's just some feeling that it is not the same as I started. However, the PR is situated in the subconsiousness level. So there's really no telling from my consiousness that I know I am still in the proper state. How do I differentiate it?

You're in the proper state when you don't worry about what state you are in and just do it. Soft focus wider gaze is all that is required.

I have also noticed that after photoreading for a few moments, the pages seem to become more clear, even if I still can't consciously see what I'm reading. A bit like the clarity you get after looking at one of those stereogram images for a few minutes... initially the eyes are divergent and defocused, but after a while everything becomes perfectly clear.
