Hi.

Ive read the book, been amazed, but not really managed to photoread.

i tried the blip page method first, didnt give me anything that seemed correct, then i tried the imaginary X, nothing.
but i did read before that about looking at the space around the letters, that gave me results, i save the whole page at once, like 3d, like looking at an entire page.

this though i only succeded in twice.

then i read at this forum about the 3d pictures u can look at and played with that a while. they had 2 techniques, one where u look through the screen and one where u cross your eyes, the look through technique (wich i suspect is the same method used for the blip page) i cant make work.

the cross eye one though is no problem.
now, can i use this method for photoreading?

and is it the same as the imaginary X?

thanks

Anders.

No, don't cross your eyes, it is not the same as the imaginary X-technique. The imaginary X-technique; notice 4 corners, soft gaze, notice pattern of white on the page.

When you say you only succeeded twice you mean on two books?

You can be a proficient PhotoReader when you see the blip.

You can be a proficient PhotoReader when you don't see the blip.

Don't believe me? Then see page 48 of the PhotoReading book 3rd Edition.

No blip, No problem. Means no problem... use imaginary X.

when i say i succeded twice, i mean i managed to see the page like "3d" (probably not the right word) 2 times. 2 times 1 page, never managed to get through a whole book.

i cant seem to make it happen again.
when i managed it dissapered after a few seconds.

is this what i am supposed to expect? a 3d like page, that i dont look at but is almost knife sharp focus, and yet not.

what Am i supposed to expect?
and, then i was wondering, when using the blip page method, ur eyes focus somewhere beyond, in the distance. when using the imaginary X way, where is your eyes focusing? im imagining this will help me somehow, knowing that.

thanks again

Anders

Then don't bother with the blip page!

Read page 45 of the PhotoReading book 3rd edition again. It explains in deatin what you are doing wiht your focus.

u missunderstand me.

the 2 times i succeded i wasnt using the blip page, im not at all using it, u told me that it wasnt a problem if i didnt and paul wrote so, so im Not using it...

i was looking at the space around the letters and rows when i succeded.

another thing is that i do Know How the imaginary X technique works. i have read the book, and your posts, that is not a problem, and it is not what i asked about.

what i want to know is what is supposed to happen when i use this technique.... i think i have a problem relaxing my eyes, and i dont know when i have succeded and not.

so i know how i am suppoed to do it, i just dont know when ive done it, what it is supposed to be like...

does it make any sense?

You are PhotoReading.

That's what happens

quote:
i was looking at the space around the letters and rows when i succeded.

Then you say

quote:
...and i dont know when i have succeded and not.

You either looked at the pattern of white or not. If you don't know if you looked at the pattern of white or not How is anyone else supposed to tell you you succeeded or not?

quote:
so i know how i am suppoed to do it, i just dont know when ive done it, what it is supposed to be like...

does it make any sense?

Nope and you wouldn't have asked if it made sense to you.

If you know what you're supposed to do just do it. Quit judging the experience instead use NOPS. (see page 132 for NOPS)

What you do is...

Prepare, Preview, Prepare to PhotoRead, Close eyes, enter Accelerated Learning State, purpose, affirm, open eyes, open book, PhotoRead [You look at the four corners of the book notice the pattern of white on the page. You turn the pages at a steady pace, say the chant. You're taking mental snap shots of the page.] Flip to the end, close book, close eyes, affirm. Incubate, activate.

When you've done that you've applied the PhotoReading system.

this is my last post.

you dont need to explain over and over again How the system works. i have read the book, i know about the soft gaze, and the looking at the space around the letters.

i know all this that you keep explaining over and over.

so, i twice (when looking at the space around the letters) had an experience.
this experience felt like i was looking at a 3d page. first it was all blur, then it suddenly became sharp, but not sharp like i was focusing at it, but sharp like i saw the whole page in a single look.
this is it right? this is what photoreading is?

now when looking at the space around the letter, i cant recreate this experience of 3d. i never get past the blur. i cant relax my eyes enough or something.

so, if u feel i am a moron, then ignore me, but i have understood what u have said, and i only wonder if this "3d" (i know its a bad word) is what i am supposed to see or if the blur is enough.

im sorry if im just stupid.

No, it is what photofocus is. It can become sharp. 90% of the time it will not happen until you PhotoRead 50 to 100 books because the eyes don't focus that way without practice.

Like it said in the book "It is probably blurred."

quote:
or if the blur is enough.

If that is what you wanted to know why didn't you ask that in the first place?

Yes, Blurred is fine. You're not looking at the words so it will be blurred until some point in time where you more often get the lifting off the page clarity that you finally told us about.

Alex tell me what makes the imaginary X technique so different from converging the eyes?...unless you can prove the big difference I don't see the big problem between the two.
