Hi guys, I have a quick question which has 'in a way' been answered in the post below mine.

I am only as far as previewing with my home study course at the moment but was wondering, how do you experienced photoreaders 'pleasure read'?

I understand the need or rather the desire to photoread material that will further our knowledge and thus careers but what i'd like to know is how does photoreading affect your pleasure reading?

My purpose would be simply 'reading for my enjoyment'

There would be no point in previewing the book or magazine as i'm going to read start to finish just for the sake of something to do. So do you guys still read in the elementary style and read each word at a time mentally pronouncing it or do you still photoread it?

PhotoRead then activate. That's how I pleasure read. Preview is often replaced by postviewing anyway. Other than reading back cover and looking at a few pages to decide if the style and language is the kind I would like to read. Something most people do in a bookshop before they buy the book anyway. That's essentially the preview.

Read elementary style? No. Use the rapid reading technique. Rapid reading with rhythmic perusal. The speed varies throughout the pages of the book. some can be as slow as elementary reading to savor the details and others can be zipping along skittering or even Superreading and dipping. Some sections are just too boring to read slow.
