I thought that was helpful too. It's a very innovative insight. I know that I don't like to feel stuck or committed to a purpose from photoreading from the beginning of the book.
Depending on what I'm reading and what for, how specific my purpose will be will usually differ. If it's pretty general, I would narrow in on what I want to know, as least by my hunches. I don't want to be too specific from the start because then, what if the book doesn't have what I'm looking for? I basically don't want to limit my options.
