I have a question along the same lines...I am a beginning photoreader (I have been trying it for a few days, with a physics textbook and The Metamorphosis...no tangible results thus far). In order to maintain photofocus, I have been placing a noticeable object (such as a brush, a large dictionary, etc.) at a distance away from me, then focusing on that and directing my peripheral vision to the book at hand...at this point I can see all four corners of the book (though it is blurry), but sometimes I lose the blip page. It can usually be regained easily enough, but it breaks my concentration...probably my biggest problem right now is maintaining a good learning state while photoreading; my mind seems to wander or think about my progress/how I am doing (thoughts like "make sure you're seeing the blip page and looking at the whitespace")...I also need to work on activation. Anyway, any tips any one has for me as well would be appreciated. Thanks! -Daniel
P.S. I am a high school senior, I will be taking Advanced Placement exams soon and am hoping to use this along with mindmapping to study so I would really like to learn how to photoread...I will be on two long trips before I take the tests so I have plenty of time to keep trying. I definitely want to have this technique developed before going to college, and I'll keep you guys posted with my questions and progress. Thanks again.
