Purpose is what you are going to do with the information. It isn't enough just to say "I want a good grounding in..."
what on earth for?
How do you measure it?
When will you know you have a "good grounding" (interesting when you think about it that expression can mean punishment.)
Why would you need a good grounding?
Purpose is the point.
What's the point of reading the book?
