I've been doing some more research through the forums so please bear with me.

On the book in question, I've amended the purpose to now be 'To determine which Vitamins will have the most benefit to my family's wellbeing'.

Is my thinking getting closer to the mark now?

I've used the above purpose which did allow me to now formulate questions for the Mind Map stage.

I re-PhotoRead the book again, waited a sleep cycle and proceeded with the activation stage once more, now that I'm armed with a new specific purpose.

The book is laid out with a chapter per Vitamin. Scheele says in his tape to Super read the parts that attract me - I certainly didn't get any direction from my NC mind here and tried the SuperReading from the start of the book and dipped/skittered throughout the book whilst turning every page with SuperReading.

[1] Is it normal at this stage of learning this process (end of tape 7B) to come away from the end of the activation with a feeling of not knowing absolutely anything about the book I just PhotoRead?

[2] For the Mind Map technique that Scheele went through in the 7B tape (page 55 of manual) where main points are listed with subpoints, I get the impression I should know these points from the material I've already absorbed. This is the case?

If you had no idea what part of the book interested you you didn't formulate a question to start with. Usually you can look for triggers or hints in the table of content or index.

In answer to your question...is it normal.. Yes. it's the passive reading trap.

Without looking mind map the content of your sock draw. The information your mind has already absorbed. The point is the conscious mind and non conscious mind don't always hook up that well. Another example, those conversations you have with people that go, you know that actor, whatis'name. Played in that movie with that blond one. You know. The movie where... yeah, whatis'name? Dunno it will come to me later. It usually does but that's the same irritating experience you will have when you sit at a mind map believing that you "should get these points from the material already absorbed".

Thanks Alex,

I think I'll just go on to another book now for more practise,
