If you had no idea what part of the book interested you you didn't formulate a question to start with. Usually you can look for triggers or hints in the table of content or index.
In answer to your question...is it normal.. Yes. it's the passive reading trap.
Without looking mind map the content of your sock draw. The information your mind has already absorbed. The point is the conscious mind and non conscious mind don't always hook up that well. Another example, those conversations you have with people that go, you know that actor, whatis'name. Played in that movie with that blond one. You know. The movie where... yeah, whatis'name? Dunno it will come to me later. It usually does but that's the same irritating experience you will have when you sit at a mind map believing that you "should get these points from the material already absorbed".
