1) When we call on, and receive, the master's energy, is he always consciously aware of it?
2) Does the teaching that we can call upon the energy of masters from past or future life cycles mean that the past and future are in some sense present? If the future is present, does that mean that what is going to happen is already settled and can't be changed?
3) In the 7 Steps exercise, we're supposed to visualize the energy going out through our toes into the earth, but one foot has a raised toe because the heel is down. How does that work?

Hi, Betsy
When I read your post I felt more than a touch of dismay. I thought, "There goes a nice person who is being diverted into mysticism."
From my perspective, admittedly a hyperrationalist one, you don't really connect with a master's energy somewhere out there in the 5th dimension. You connect with a part of yourself I call the Higher Self, kind of like a supercomputer that can, depending on how "intuitive" you are, take odd bits of info from many disparate sources, and come up with an idea that turns out to be true, event though a person who didn't know about the Higher Self would have a devil of time explaining logically how that truth came to be discovered!
You can direct the Higher Self to connect to the master's energy, and it certainly connects with "something" though I'd bet a dollar there is no actual energy out there, outside of me the person who is doing that "connecting."
I totally accept the ability of Qi Gong to coax the body to heal itself, though I take with more than a few grains of salt Chu Lin's metaphysics!
The argument against a subjectivist metaphysics is superstrong, Betsy. Every time we are successful with anything in life, we act on the principle that there is an objective reality independent of us, a reality knowable to us via our minds interpreting the evidence of the senses. No ghosts, no spirits that exist in such form they cannot be measured by physical instruments.
I say this with all due respect for the wonderful work Chu Lin has done or, for that matter, that Paul Scheele has done with Photoreading and its extensions. As we come to understand more the wonderful power of the Higher Self, we see there is no need to hypothecize the existence of a Platonic dimension of Forms, whereat we can know the whole truth of anything. We all have this marvelous high-speed computer as part of our inner wiring. Let's connect it up and use it, without putting forth the strangest explanations to account for its remarkable effects!

best wishes,
Mike

There is nothing mystic about Spring Forest Qigong.

I do not know how it works; I just know it works. Mike, your explanation could be real. I don't know. But...

I believe that when you call on your Master's energy, you connect with his/her energy, whether the master you call on is Jesus Christ, Chunyi Lin, or your best friend.

Chunyi says he is not conscious of anyone in particular connecting to him.

One night, about this time, I was doing a sitting meditation. About two thirds of the way through, I felt clear and pure energy flow through my body. Time stopped, and I stayed in the meditation for a couple of hours.

The next day I was telling someone of it, who said he was with Chunyi the night before at that time, and that Chunyi said he would send me energy. Cool, eh?!

The energy is not bound by time, which explains some the stories of spontaneous healing happening an hour before a group long distance healing (Level 3 stuff).

But, I do not know the answer to your future question.

I'll see if I can get an answer to your number 3. I think the answer is that you imagine the energy flowing out of your feet, and not neccessarily just your toes.

Gee, Pete,
How can energy come to you before it is sent out?

Hi Betsy-
I am going to answer some of your questions from my "own" experience. Please accept it as that. This is not my opinion, it is my experience. 1) I call on a collective energy, made up of specific sources, or entities, masters, etc., I have come to know, over time, through prayer, meditation, and study with teachers. There appears to me a strata of levels or dimensions, regarding these spirits, that takes form under God. It is possible to directly pray/connect to god, or access god through these other spiritual beings. There are some masters in this collective that I did know as living teachers. After starting with Spring Forest, I include Master Lin in this collective, and also whoever his teachers are. I don't see the physical part of him , here, necessarily aware of my connection, but I am connecting to an aspect of him, or what he is connected to. Other spiritual entities or sources that only exist in higher realms, or other dimensions, can always be there, and can always be aware of your relationship with them. There was a great Souix holyman/healer by the name of Fools Crow. He carved a likeness of himself, that he kept in his medicine bundle. The purpose was to have an aspect of him, always paying respects to the higher spirits, when "he" wasn't conscious of that connection and relationship, as he went about his day. For him , that created the constant connection to and awareness of the higher spirits (or master's energy). This is sort of the reverse to your question.
2) Some of your second question is addressed in my previous response. My own experience has been that you can create/manifest the best possible future. You can go into the past to heal, or correct, or release...which has an affect on the present and future. If the future is present, it is a possible future,,it can be changed.
Mike, my experience has been different than your point of view. Perhaps I should be burned at the stake as a witch. :-)

Regarding the question: How can energy come to you before it is sent out?
I have experienced this on several occassions. I think it is connected to the intension of the healer. The energy is sent with the original intention to do something. So, in essence, it "is" sent out. I have done some healing work that has involved traditional ritual in the process. Perhaps prayers were done, maybe some burning of sage, etc., all to focus on the healing work at hand, and create a sacred space to do it in. By the time you get to doing the actual energy work on the patient, it is already done. The complete process of going through the actual healing,is very fulfilling, even if you are aware of an energy exchange, perhaps being done before you finish your movements or work.

Hi, Gallen
First of all, please--no burning as a witch! I am a libertarian anyways, and am a firm believer in a live-and-let-live philosophy, as long as one does not initiate the use of force or fraud to gain what someone else has earned.
Concerning your second post, it sure do sound creative! Your idea is, if I understand it correctly, that during the setting up of one's ritual to transmit energy, energy may well be transmitted *before* it comes time to do the formal work of energy transmitting. Not bad It sounds like you have neatly gone over the time paradox! (A note to Pete: hope I didn't hurt your feelings by calling you "Mystical One." Apparently mystics can get some most interesting results in their thinking!)
Next comes the problem of energy transmission without it being physically perceived, as over a physical mechanism of some kind. Or do you believe that at some future time, physical instruments will be created that can measure this energy?

best wishes,
Mike

Mike,
You misunderstood my second post. I did not say the healing happened while "setting up" of one's ritual to do the actual healing. Ritual involves more than arranging or setting up a space to work in. During that time I connect, in prayer to higher spirits, or the master's energy. I ask for help in doing what I am about to do. "That" is when I think the healing "sometimes" can take place. I have the intention of what I am about to do, I sometimes may see what I am going to do, and I have connected to the "masters energy".
This all can happen before going through the physical motions of doing the healing. Ritual is a personal preference. I am not even taking in account what the patient may be doing on their own. They may be doing something on their own that facilitates their healing.
I am not sure how to respond to your last paragraph. I don't see the transmission of energy, without its physical perception by the person receiving it , a problem.

Gallen---I LOVE FOOLS CROW----what a holy man. I've not heard many people mention him though.

Mike---you have a very closed mind. I wonder why mystical carries a negative connotation for you? I am curious about your asking questions and then shooting people down b/c of their honest & sincere answers?

The questions Besty asked are not particularly materialistic questions. Why bring your negativity to her questions? My Master knows everything about me & can even give me what i need prior to my asking. That's the difference between pradhu and vibhu. So, shoot me down, but i've had 29 yrs. of this type of experience. I've been healed in dreams & i once was driving in a car headed for a head on collision that never took place. I never swerved, i just felt myself flip out of my body. Next thing i knew, i was looking in the rear view mirror at the other car which was still on my side of the road.

I have NEVER taken DRUGS either. I'm just an ordinary person.
