Hi, Gallen

All hail your wife

It's true enough that I do more than just present my point of view, when I encounter a point of view that is opposed to what I know to be true about *basic* premises. It's definitely not always the best way for me to go, but it certainly is understandable.
There's a kind of war going on for the soul of man, Gallen. On one side is the group that says that when you don't understand something, you are supposed to have faith in the speaker. On the other side is the group that says reality and life make sense. I am squarely on the latter side of the argument.
I call it a battle because more lives have been lost during religious wars than due to greed for land.
About your perspective as an artist: it's one thing to create from your mind's eye, and quite another to say the universe outside of you did not exist at one time, and then it popped into existence. From my perspective, everything that exists has its own nature, and always existed, just in a different form than the present. Or...the universe always existed. To say that first there was nothing implies that the speaker either was present at the beginning of creation (in the 5th dimension??) or that the speaker had a revelation of what happened, since pure reason never begins to suggest that something came from nothing.
best wishes always,
Mike
