why it is that some people don't respond fully to Qigong.

I was just reading the Level II manual (just got it!), remembered that he had also mentioned this in the Level I course that this was true, and am curious as to the reason for this.

I am esp. curious in light of my Mother, who has a malignant glioma, and has seen several amazing healers (in addition to traditional western care) from the around the world, but who has yet to heal (or so it appears).

Interesting question. I remember listening to Jose Silva on a tape say: Everyone can be healed because healing has to do w/ the soul/spirit. However, not everyone can be cured because it has to do w/ the body.

Chunyi Lin says that the bodies of a small percentage of he population do not respond to Qigong.

Some people also put up mental blockages to/that prevent healing.

Some blockages are so severe that it takes longer to remove the blockage either through practice or a healing done by another.

Some blockages are so severe that they simply can not be removed. After all, everyone dies at some point.

Having worked as a psychotherapist, I perspective that I've seen is that almost anyone can resist being 'cured'. While I can't say that this is the case with your mom, it can be instructive to look at.

Often there is a "secondary gain" (i.e., they get something out of maintaining the symptom). It takes honesty to face up to that. Perhaps it's attention. The theraputic trick is to see if they'll be willing to give up the "gain" or get it some other way. I often go at it as "Would it be OK with you for the symptom to disappear?" and follow up with "Do you think you'd lose anything by the symptom disappearing?" You absolutely cannot accuse them of (essentially) malingering.
