Has anyone used the Centerpointe Holosync technology while doing meditation? Other types of qigong state that you will only set back your progress by practicing simultaneous forms of meditation during the early stages (3-5yrs). It seems like holosync and qigong would compliment each other quite nicely.

Thanks

There seems to be alot of posts about mixing things. Keep it simple. Focus on one thing and do it. That is the best way to experience what something is. It is also the best way to get good at something and make progress. If you throw two things like that together, you won't know what is doing what.
I visited centerpointe's website, and a few connected sights. The founder's background is primarily in music, along with hypnosis and neuro linguistic programing. I saw a header on one of the sights that claimed, "How to meditate deeper that a Zen Monk". Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is achieved by just listening to the tapes, and the tapes/sound effect on your brain. It might be just bad, or cheesy marketing, but I didn't get the best feeling from it. I am certainly not completely informed on it or its effectiveness. Looking at someone's background is helpful, and what they are connected to also tells you something. The whole centerpointe deal seems to connect to one person and their experience in this lifetime doing research based in technology that instantly allows one to experience transformational states of conciousness. That's pretty incredible. Spring Forest is connected to teachers and teacher's teachers, masters and master's masters....generations of work. It evolves, but stays connected to a resource of experience.
Back to my first point. Just do one thing. Make a choice and get to work. Set a point on the horizon to evaluate your experience.

Hi Thomas,
I have used Holosync and it is very powerful, It takes quite a long time (about 4 months for each level). It can really space you out. I don't think you should combine it with anything else, it is too powerful. It is also very expensive, there are 12 levels. I think it is a good meditational program, but is really something that has to be done by itself. Everyones experience is different. There is a good forum on the Centerpointe Web site if you wish to learn more about it.

Best Wishes

Panther.

I have been doing H/S (Centerpointe) for two years. I agree that it is a very powerful program in that it brings up the unconscious to the conscious mind. Depending upon the amount of resistance one exhibits, it can cause a lot of feelings of overwhelm. I have Spring Forest and have tried doing the two programs together but I agree it is too much. Others might not agree, but for me, it has been better if I have one program as my priority and do the other one when and if I feel like it. At this time, my priority is Centerpointe because I have seen the tremendous amount of growth that has occurred in my personal life. If my main goal right now was physical health, however, I would focus on qigong.

Gallen,
I liked your post. I agree w/ what you have written. I enjoyed the contrast between the different roots.

I do approx. 10 minutes of Spring Forrest QiGong prior to listening to holosync. I'm currently on the last level of Awakening. If one were to describe the number of holosync levels then there are 48 different cds not including Awakening Prologue. I am on the 15th cd & 2.5 yrs in that program.

Powerful here would mean entraining your brainwaves to delta w/ lowering of carrier frequency very gently w/ each level. There's lots of info & if you want more let me know b/c i have saved a post from Marc on what the lowering of carrier frequencies means.

Until one gets accustomed to the lower carrier frequency, one tends to get zonked, but a kind of alert zonked. Pretty poor description though. I don't know too much on the technical side of it all. This zonked feeling makes it feel powerful. Then there are those who suddenly have the closed doors on all their emotional pain fall away or open up. This can bring up a lot of pain & this can make it also feel powerful. Here i am XX old & i've managed to keep the pain away from me. Now all of a sudden it's staring me in the face. It provides a chance to radically change thereby giving one the certain feeling that i can change & in fact am changing. That's also a powerful feeling.

BUT, your advice stands & i think it is what people should follow. I've been at it 30+ yrs. so that makes a difference. I came to it all w/ a background of teachers & training.

LS & CRI & SILVA.....oh my,

Thanks for the replies, I'm still not sure how I'll proceed. I like to practice qigong about 3 days per week and just started listening to holosync. I probably will start simple and go from there. If anyone out there has had bad experiences mixing the two disciplines, I'd like to hear your experiences.

Thanks

I am surprised by all the holosync people out there. Margaret, thank you for anwering my post. I have alot of thoughts about this subject, and don't really know how to approach it, and if I should! I do know there is a need to address different aspects of self. The emotional self is a biggy. My experience with qigong started as very physical, more martial influenced, and has softened a great deal over the years. I did mostly emotional and spiritual work with an Iniut teacher, and gained tools to continue that. That teacher also did healingwork , and stressed that as a great purpose for utilizing energy. After several different qigong experiences, SFQ came up. The healing aspect hit the spot for me. I still carry previous spiritual work/perspectives into my practice. I have found it integrates well. I did make a medicine wheel this year, after several years of not making one, and I had trouble continuing my exercises. I felt the "spirits" wanted me to focus, and leave the physical work aside while I was doing it. I do know the higher levels of SFQ focus on healing others as an outward expression, and focus on meditation as the means of maintaining health and transformational growth. I don't consider myself at a high level regarding meditation. Part of my interest in pursuing SFQ, is to experience how the spiritual and emotional part integrate into higher level meditation. I believe the purpose in meditation is greater wisdom, awareness, awareness of truth, experiencing universal/unconditional love, healing, entering the void, etc. I know Master Lin's experience with meditation has highly spiritual aspects along with the previously mentioned attributes. I know it connects to teachers/masters that help move one through transformation. My earlier work with the Inuit also connected, alwaYs, to spiritual entities/resources, to help with transformation and healing. This was a safety factor in the process. If I plugged in, and asked for, or pursued, "anything", in a healing way, it was out of my hands and/or lack of awareness about anything, and in the hands of loving beings that took care of giving me what was good for me at the time. I still use this safety net. My reference to teacher's teachers, and masters/elders, etc., refer to this. One question I would have, would be whether there is that safety net in holosync, and whether it gives you the means to move through, release, heal, etc. , the subconcious things that come up. Margaret, I would be interested in seeing that info you mention. You could forward it to my email if possible. I am still going to pursue qigong as a singular focus. It does allow me to bring in my spiritual preferences. I do know I am somewhat a novice yet at meditation, and I want to focus on that. As I said, I know SFQ nutures that direction, and , I believe, and have found to be true, that focusing on one thing bears fruit. This is my mission! I do understand that if something isn't being addressed, and you are pursuing self healing accross the board, looking to what you need to accomplish that is justified. Enough for now. I wish everyone health and happiness in their pursuits.

Gallen, you have a path that suits you. Stick to it. Don Juan: All paths lead nowhere, so choose a path w/ a heart. A path w/ a heart is a path that speaks to your condition.

I personally feel that Chunyi Lin is a Master. I certainly would want to meet him in person if i were you. If you really want to help yourself w/ meditation, then connect w/ him on some level & ask for help. You'll get it. Masters are like paraliminals! , listen & then just do the next thing. Bank on it working. I'd also get a photo of Master Chunyi Lin. You know we always have photos of those we love around. More so w/ Masters.

If you want to read more on CRI stuff, go to their newsletters b/c they are archived. But, you already have a path w/ your heart in it.

Hi Margaret,
Thank you again...
I do get to connect to Master Lin for clinics, and he has given me direction in meditation. My biggest challenge is the physical position. I can do a half lotus "somewhat" comfortably!! I am trying to open up the hips, sacrum, knees, etc., as a self healing projecT. I have some blockages there, or agE. That takes time. Level I and II have been helpful. I won't be able to really get into meditation until I move past that limitation. Thanks again for the nice response and wise words.
