I think Pete gave a great answer, and shows the character of LS, or Pete as a representative of LS.
By the way, it 'is' ok if someone makes a good living(!!!), especially if involved in very positive work. I don't see a conflict in the mission statement and the cost of the courses. It seems we allow countless corporate business's to thrive in this country making incredible amounts of money doing awful things, or nothing at all.
I also view this from a bigger picture perspective. Just as it benefits everyone in the house, energetically (feng shui), to have one person practicing qigong in that house, the same is true on a grand scale involving the earth and all its peoples. Lots of work to do folks!
After you have done level I for a few years, do the math, and see how much it has cost you. The longer you practice, the less expensive it gets! In the clinics run in Minnesota, you can repeat a courses for half the amount, if you need to revisit the material. Compare that to health care costs, and what you get for it. Master Lin is a "professional" healer. He has done, and does do, an amazing amount of work, to be who he is, and maintain that level. (I don't know what sitting in a cave pays these days. I am glad he left that job and came out!)
In a successful partnership, the same holds true for Learning Strategies. I think they are putting very genuine efforts into doing the best they can help accomplish that mission statement and hopefully, they make a good profit so they can continue to grow and improve.
