James, thanks for sharing your experience with the active exercises. Please keep doing them. As you begin to feel a sense of well being, you may want to think of getting into a daily practice pattern. One thing that counters depression is setting goals and moving your self into the future. Practicing every day for a week and taking stock and then setting a little more ambitious goal. in the past having a patient attitude has helped me set longer practice goals such as 100 consecutive practice days or even 300.

Breathing with the Universe works with the lungs so would likely be a good active exercise for depression. Have you found a particular exercise helpful, such as that one or Seven Steps of New Life?
