Can SFQ active exercises replace regular aerobic exercise and weight training?

What I love most is that you can do the exercises standing, sitting, or lying down, so that if you're not feeling that great on a particular day, you can do them sitting or lying down.
I'm starting to experience electricity flowing through my body just like the manual said I would. Cool. My first benefit that I feel is a calmness. I'm more peaceful and I'm in a better mood in the morning. This is from only doing the active exercises for a few days so far. I'm trying to fit the meditation in my schedual too.

All I ever felt from Hatha Yoga was pain when I pulled something. I'm not disrespecting Yoga, I just did not feel any benefits from it other than some flexibility. Maybe one has to perform Hatha Yoga for many years to feel any gains. I feel gains from SFQ after a FEW DAYS practicing it. How amazing is that?

Master Lin is sure right when he says its' VERY powerful...!!

Hi Diana,
SFQ exercise insures your internal health, healthy organs, helps you relax...important stuff! I don't think it replaces aerobic exercise. You can find related Chinese exercise or martial arts, etc., that are more outwardly physical. or, more western activities. Both are good. Qigong is better for longevity if you only have time for one. As you get older, the western forms of exercise should be toned down. Most westerners don't understand the concept of storing and saving energy,,,,just using it.I see older people running around the lakes here, that shouldn't be! They are battering themselves. Wearing out their joints..
Also, qigong can allow you a healthier base, and a longer ability to do the other types of exercise. Keep that tongue up, even when you are aerobisizing to Disco Fever. Qigong awareness will help you define other forms of physical movement, in a healthier way.

I wanted to add , too, that the circling movements Master Lin does in prep to sitting meditation, of the hips, knees, ankles..., is good before and after activities like running. It addresses joints, versus just stretching muscles out to exercise. Circular movement can, draw in energy, along with opening up an area. Also spine and neck movements from harvesting qi, or the whole deal...

Thanks Gallen. What circling movements? Do you mean the active exercises in level 1? What page is that on in the manual?
