Hi, this is just an FYI of my experience with the Harmony of Universal Energy. I noticed over the past week that I have been having dull headaches throughout the day. I tried to think of what would cause it and realized that it is the movement in the Harmony of Universal Energy when you hold your hands over your head for 3 sec. I would feel this pressure developing in my brain. For me this is dangerous because I have a seizure disorder and pressure in my head could be a problem for me.

Talking to my kung fu instructor today, who is also a chiropractor and healer (www.drjohnsot.com) he confirmed that the motion was trapping energy in my head. He said to focus on the point on the spine in between your shoulder blades. By doing that he said it will drain the energy out of the head. I suppose you can focus on the point at the top of the chest to promote the flow of the orbit in the proper way.

If you guys have any opinions or if Chunyi Lin has mentioned anything I would appreciate hearing it.

Thanks, Randy

I think you might be doing the exercise incorrectly. A couple things come to mind.
1) Keep your crown point suspended, straight back, neck, suspend up to crownpoint. Don't look up as you hold hands over your head, causing a "crimp" in your neck. The energy is very open in this exercise, keep your alignment through the movement.
2) As you bring your cupped hands down to your crown, you bring the energy there, then as you move your hands down your face to the base of your throat, move the energy down. In the lowered position, I am aware, again , of the energy in my hands, lower dan tien, and grounded feet/stance..
Then you start another cycle moving up. Check your neck alignment and be sure you are feeling the spine stretch a bit and align, as you suspend the crown, holding that ball up over your head, aligning that ball to crownpoint with heaven. The energy is up to the crown at that point. Opening your arms down to shoulder height, then up again is a nice open merging with heaven. Then bring the energy from heaven down to the crown with cupped hands, and continue moving the energy down the front with your hands. You may feel the warmth of your hands as they pass down your face to the base of your throat, to heart, to lower dan tien...
Keep you neck/spine/crown aligned in the stretching movement too. Be aware of how you are "moving" the energy. I wouldn't focus on the point between your shoulder blades, moving from the head. That is moving backwards from how the energy flows. "if" you want to move energy out of your head, focus on the lower dan tien. You can move, inside, down your centerline, head to heart to lower dan tien. (upper, middle, lower dan tiens). Otherwise , follow the direction of energy flow in small universe, down the front, then , into the lower dan tien to hold your focus there. Again, the exercise, if done correctly, does noT trap energy in your head.

Gallen,

I paid attention more to the alignment of my neck and also put attention on my dan tien when bringing the cupped hands to my crown. That seemed to help.

When you lift the ball up to the heavens don't you look up a bit causing the crimp in the neck and then straighten it back out when you cup over the crown?

Thanks,
Randy

You can look up, but you have to "suspend" through the crown point. Think of "pulling" through the center of the spine/neck up through the crown. Not like a hollow straw that you bend, crimping it flat and closing it.. Keep your 'alignment' through to the crownpoint as you look up, keeping your spine open and completely connected from tailbone up to crownpoint. Be aware of the connection through the 'whole' spine , up to the crown. Don't fold it, or crimp, 'pull' through it. Only look up to the extent it doesn't break or choke off this alignment. The same would be true if you were looking down, or to the sides. You are probably bending the neck too much. Remember too, that you are open. Be aware of the connection between heaven, that ball, your third eye area having a connection to heaven(this is more of what you 'look up with', rather than your actual eyes. As your arms move down, you should feel your whole being open and merging with heaven(your spine/neck/crown align straight again, you might look up a bit again as you go up with your arms to the cupped hands you then bring down as you straighten/suspend alignment once more.
