Yes, that saying took me awhile to assimilate. It's what i call the direction part that complements the poetical direction of: i am in the universe; the universe is in me; the universe and i combine together. To me, both are saying the same thing.

Another way to look at it is to go into peripheral vision. When you don't focus on a branch of a tree but rather the whole tree. That's also the same thing. The emptiness of Buddhism is just that, a merging where we don't focus on anyone one thing and by doing that, we feel/experience something quite clearly. Peripheral vision is the same thing.
