Hello shr33m, the pranic healing offered at
http://www.freehealing.com/moreinfo1/training.html

Is this done over the phone? Do I have to be lying in bed and on the phone with someone at the appointed time?

Thanks!

All I know is that Master Lin says that it's bad to mix different energy exercises. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up cancelling each other out.

tribu,

the healing is done remotely, you don't have to do anything. now if you are getting a remote attunement, you would follow the instructions and be in a meditative state at the indicated time. more on this modality is at http://users.erols.com/freehealing/moreinfo1/moreinfo.html

"Q: Is U.E. similar to the Japanese Reiki healing art?

A: Yes, it is similar in that Reiki uses the Universal Energy too. However, the similarities end there because Universal Human Yoga uses no mystical symbols for initiation and healing. Nor does it use the chakras in the front of the body. It is also precise and quick. The longest healing time allowed is 5 minutes for lower level students, and 1 minute for high level practitioners. Only in the cases of cancer and coma would one be allowed to heal anyone more than once per day. With Reiki, healing sessions take much longer. Universal Human Yoga prohibits charging a fee for healing, while Reiki healers are allowed to charge for the service. Universal Human Yoga teaches mass healing and long distance mass healing in a much greater degree than does Reiki."

Another interesting perspective on energy healing from Liswardi can be found at http://www.chikungworld.com/download.htm

Just make sure that you separate the practice of different energy systems by a reasonable length of time.

Note: I'm not advocating anything for anybody. I actually prefer to dispense with having beliefs.

NACHO, You've taken classes with Master Lin, why don't you ask him exactly what he means by that statement about not mixing energy practices so we can understand his broad statement more clearly? Does he mean mixing in the same day? At the same time? Not at all?

Aloha zeus,

Recieving an attunement is not going to negativly impact your Spring Forest Qigong work. Do you need it? -no.

As I mentioned before, Master Lin strongly recomends choosing and developing within a single system first. The results tend to be a meal rather than a fast food experience.

Mayflower: As for the mixing of energetic modalities, one can do their SFQ during the day and give their system a chance to absorb and integrate the work done. After this 30 mintes or so they can do your heavy/strenous workouts, yoga, TM, etc.

If your refering to working on someone, it's goes along the lines of the "Too Many Babas" story. Your not going to want be, for instance, doing Rieke on someone and impliment a SFQ technique in there. Nor would it be best to have people of different modalities working on someone at the same time. The result can be just a repetition of effort, a confusion for the body, impliment well, or a variety of things.

Give each modality specialty it's own time and space. Likewise give their/your body it's own time and space

Let me know if this doesn't answer your question.

As Chunyi mentioned last week and keeps reminding all of us:
"Keep it Simple, use your consciusness, and go into the emptiness"

Much Love, Shawn

Straight from the level 1 course manual:

"All good masters of Qigong have the same opinion. Choose one Qigong technique or form you like best and stay with it for a long time, even the rest of your life. You will build up your system. One day when you become very good at this form, you can explore around and see how other Qigong techniques can benefit you. When you shift often from one technique to another, you change your regulation system, which makes it very difficult to bring your meditation and your energy to a higher level."

So as you can see, switching techniques on a regular basis would not be a good decision.

Perhaps you should ask yourself, 'why' you are doing what you are doing..
What are your intentions? What are you trying to create within your experience, or state of being? Does one modality come up short for you? Are you concerned you might be missing something with one?
You don't have to answer me...but, I hope you ask these questions to yourself.

The same energies, potentially, can run through many different methods. Energy patterns are different, and don't necessarily mix well. There are workable or complimentary possibilities. Experience is required. Experience comes from time spent doing 'something', to the degree that you know what it is. Keeping things separate is safest, if you don't know. Vibrations to energy varies. You do the math, as far as mixing higher and lower, or whatever. Both spiritual and physical energy can be involved.
Again, I would reflect on why you are doing what you are, other than doing it just because you can, if that is the case.
