I've never been able to see pictures in my mind. I haven't even been able to think of a color and see it in my minds eye. I've always envied people that could.

How can I learn to do this? TIA!

Have a Blessed Day,

Dwight

Rest assured you can and do visualise. You just do it too fast to notice. If someone asks you what colour is the walls in your room chances are you tell can tell them after a moments thought. That's because you do recalled a visual image of it. Image what colour make etc is the car of your dreams?

The thing is we tend to put it into words very fast. When you see something red and call it red you are calling upon your visual memory.

In anycase in relation to Qi gong, if you cannot visualise, get a feel for it, sense it or even just know that the energy is moving. Sometimes for feeling or auditory predominant people this is much more effective than getting a visual image of it.

Thanks Alex for your reply. When I practice SFQ for now, I'll do it the way You mentioned and will have more confidence doing it. I still want to be able to see actual pictures in my mind. Not just for SFQ, but mostly for meditation. I've been told it's possible to learn, but I don't know how. I've been trying for over 35 years, without success. I'd be truly grateful.

My S/O that I've been with for about 19 years, has always been able to see actual color pictures in her mind, with total recall. She has been able to do amazing things because of this ability. She thought everyone could do it.

Have a Blessed Day,

Dwight

Aloha Dwight 1,

The Genius Code home study course from Learning Strategies, works heavily with visualization.

It also includes a "Think Visualy" booklet by Win Winger, Ph.D. to assist those who haven't gotten their visualizing to a place where they can consciously work with it.

Much Love, Shawn

[that will be a helpful post for people, thanks for chiming in Alex]

Thanks Shawn,

I appreciate the information.
I was looking over the courses in the back of the SFQ Level I manual, after reading your post to check out "Genius Code". And I saw the course on "PhotoReading". Which course would be the best one to start with? I'm on a fixed income and the prices on some of these courses are...... eek!

Anyway, I want to be able to visualize pictures in my minds eye and any other ideas from anyone on this subject is welcomed.

Thanks Much,

Dwight

Have a look at the genius code forum you'll find some tips there and your questions on visualisation are better answered there. Image streaming is a bonus for developing visual imagry skills.

As to which course, it really depends on your priority in life right now.

Dwight1, don't be too concerned with visualizing with the mind's eye. there are many types of visualization. This is a common misconception.

If you are doing qigong visualization, then this is primarily a kinesthetic mental activity. In the SFQ Level 1 manual, Master Lin emphasizes this fact. You should feel the sensations. Where the mind goes, qi follows.

AlexK & shr33m,

Thanks for the imput. I'll check out the Genius Code forum for some answers & information. Seeing pictures with my minds eye, has been something I've been trying for about 35 years or so, like I've mentioned earlier. Seeing pictures in my mind with Qigong, would just be a bonus for me. ;D

I understand about feeling sensations and that's what I'm doing. I do feel sensations and I'm doing mostly the Small Universe and the meditation that comes on after it. I've done the Active exercise and I guess I have to understand more what each exercise is supposed to do and why. I really like disc/tape 6. I first started using it while sitting up in bed. Then I tried it lying down and tonight I did it sitting on the side of my bed with my back straight, and chin back. I like the latter the best, but I get good sensations with any of the 3 ways I've done it. I like, "Where the mind goes, qi follows".

I won't be able to check out any replies to my posts in a timely manner; because I'll be at "Route 66 Rendezvous", car show, crusin' and stuff, in downtown San Bernardino, CA., about 18 hours a day thru Sunday. I'll have more questions after the weekend.

Thankx Again and have a Blessed Day,

Dwight 1
