I've just added a piece to another post of mine in regards to using the seeds other than the broth or powder form.
For those flowerful ones amongst us that would like to read more information on black sesame seeds from a traditional Chinese viewpoint, a pretty good reference for this seed and other foods was shown to me today and supported by two other colleagues at work: Healing with Whole Foods: oriental traditions & modern interpretations, by Paul Pichard.

*ps sesame seeds should be ground up before eating or cooking to make them more digestible. They become even more digestible with soaking and then lightly pan roasting before grinding. The broth method helps this.
